Welcome to Long Lake, Wisconsin
The Walleye Capital of Wisconsin, Long Lake in Washburn County is a picturesque 3,300 acre, 19 mile long lake reaching depths of over 70 feet. The clear, spring-fed water, cool deep bays, gravel bars, pristine setting, and miles of undeveloped shoreline make a productive year-round fishery for walleye as well as large and small mouth bass, crappie, bluegill, and northern pike. View the current fishing report here. Long Lake offers many boat rentals at the area resorts and bait shops. Spend your day fishing, kayaking, or even try stand up paddle boarding.
Recreation/Trails: Enjoy spectacular sunsets, hike in the deep forests, take a leisurely pontoon ride, and watch the stars and northern lights. See ospreys, eagles, loons, cranes, ducks, otter, beaver, muskrats, and deer while you quietly canoe the marsh edges. Allow yourself time to sit back and enjoy the solitude in Long Lake’s natural environment. Located just north of Long Lake is Hunt Hill Audubon Sanctuary, a 500-acre nature reserve with over ten miles of free hiking trails and snowshoe trails in the winter. Hunt Hill offers an ideal setting to reconnect with nature and provides a variety of nature programs for all ages.
