 Minutes of Monthly Meeting -- Tuesday, October 9th, 2007

State Patrol Conference Room 

Meeting was called to order at 11:47 a.m. 

Members present: Charlie Swanson, Ann Miller, Dan Frase, Dick Fankhauser and Storme Nelson 

Absent:  Betty Jo Brown, Tara Heckel, Fred Galan, Greg Krantz, Mike Bobin 

Others present: Leanne Woodland 

Minutes of the Sept. 18th meeting were circulated.  Storme Nelson motion to approve the Sept. 18th, 2007 minutes, seconded by Dick Fankhauser.  Motion carried.  

Treasurer’s Report:September/October Treasurer’s Report and Profit and Loss Statement were circulated for review. Ann Miller motioned to approve. Dick Fankhauser seconded. Motion carried.  

Old Business:

Website Maintenance Update: Website Committee Chair Storme Nelson stated an upcoming website committee meeting later in October would address the following topics: 1.Review Registrations, 2. discuss online vacancy calendar, 3. adding the 2008 Visitors Guide, 4. project ideas for building content, 5. maintenance, editing solutions, and the writing of a security update. Ann Miller suggested putting deadlines on website projects. Storme Nelson shared significant increases in website traffic including September 2007 the site had 69,500 hits, averaging 3,191 hits per day. Top search topics for September were Long Lake and Fall Colors. The board discussed the following ideas as new additions to the website: Fall Color Routes w/Photos, Fish Fry Traditions in Washburn County, Dining Experiences, and Specialty Food Producers (i.e. mushrooms, cranberries, etc)

New Business:

The board reviewed purchasing 2, 4’ bar height tables and 2, 6’ white table throws for the 2008 sports show. Dick Fankhauser motion to approve the purchase of 2 bar height tables and 2 throws, Storme Nelson seconded the motion. Motion carried.

 

The board reviewed and approved a $630.00 quote by The Gutter Guy, Dan Spring, to place gutters on the west side of the Information Center to help re-direct rain run-off from the roof. Storme Nelson motioned to approve, seconded by Dick Fankhauser. Motion carried.

 

The board discussed placing realtor ads at $200 per 4-line listing on the Washburn County Map with 1st case of maps free to realtors who advertise and additional maps requested by realtors costing $1 per map afterward. Ann Miller motioned to approve, seconded by Storme Nelson. Motion carried.
