Minutes of Monthly Meeting -- Tuesday, November 13, 2007
State Patrol Conference Room
Meeting was called to order at 11:35 a.m.
Members present: Charlie Swanson, Ann Miller, Dick Fankhauser, Betty Jo Brown and Storme Nelson
Absent: Tara Heckel, Fred Galan, Greg Krantz, Mike Bobin, and Dan Frase
Others present: Leanne Woodland
Minutes of the October 9th meeting were circulated. Dick Fankhauser motion to approve the October 9th, 2007 minutes, seconded by Storme Nelson. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report:October/November Treasurer’s Report and Profit and Loss Statement were circulated for review. Storme Nelson motioned to approve. Ann Miller seconded. File pending audit. Motion carried.
Old Business:Website Maintenance Update: Leanne Woodland updated the board on the following website changes: Seasonal color changes in effect. Visitors Guide pages all changed/w photos. All 2007 and 2008 businesses listed. New links for News include Press Releases, Monthly Agendas and Monthly Board Meeting Minutes. New links for Trails/Maps include: ATV, Hiking, River Routes, Snowmobile and Other County Maps—all have new copy, links to maps and great photos!

New Business:
- ATV Adventure Rally/Ride:
The board reviewed an event proposal. Dick Fankhauser motioned to continue with event planning process. Ann Miller seconded. Motion carried. Storme Nelson requested all board members be sent a packet of information regarding the upcoming event.
- Namekagon River Challenge:
The board reviewed an event proposal. Ann Miller motioned to continue with event planning process. Storme Nelson seconded. Motioned carried.
- Title Change of Treasurer
Ann Miller motioned to approve change of Treasurer title to Third Vice President with change being made in the bylaws, stating, “3rd Vice President has general oversight of financial operation of Washburn County Tourism.” Dick Fankhauser seconded. Motion carried. Board will approve revised bylaws at December 11, 2007 meeting.
- Flowerbox Project
Dick Fankhauser moved to accept proposal by Indianhead Flower Shoppe to allow signage in exchange for annual flowerbox design.
Correspondences:
- The board reviewed a request from Theatre in the Woods for the donation of $75 for new theatre chairs in exchange for each chair donated to have a plaque with WCTA. After discussion of setting precedence, the board voted to table their decision until criteria for specialty advertising/donations could be established. Ann Miller motioned to table discussion, Betty Jo Brown seconded. Motion carried.
Other Business Ann Miller motion to adjourn at 1:33 p.m., seconded by Betty Jo Brown. Motion carried.
