 Minutes of Monthly Meeting

Tuesday, March 11, 2008

Highway Department Conference Room Meeting was called to order at 11:39 a.m. 

Members present: Charlie Swanson, Ann Miller, Storme Nelson, Dick Fankhauser, Tara Heckel, Betty Jo Brown

Absent:  Greg Krantz, Fred Galan, Dan Frase

Others present: Chris Waldron, Ruth Skeie, Mike Bobin, Lee Magnuson 

Previous MinutesMinutes of the Feb 12, 2008 meeting were circulated.  Storme Nelson motioned to approve the Feb. 12, minutes, seconded by Charlie Swanson.  Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report:February Monthly Financial Report and Profit and Loss Statement were circulated for review.  Ann Miller motioned to approve. Charlie Swanson seconded. File pending audit.  Motion carried.  Motion Carried.

Executive Director Report:(See attached report)

New Business:

• Director Position

A proposal to hire Jim Bloms as the new executive director for WCTA.  Jim would be hired at 24 hours a week with no front desk hours.  Dick Fankhauser motioned to follow the personnel committee’s guidance.  Betty Jo Brown seconded.  Motion carried.

• 2009 Visitor’s Guide Bid

The Bids were distributed to the board.  Ann Miller suggested that the decision be tabled until the director can look at bids more closely.

Other Business

• Ruth Skeie mentioned that a bicycle race would be coming through the area on July 8^th, and that the participants would be using Spooner as a rest stop.

 Storme Nelson motion to adjourn at 12:30 p.m., seconded by Charlie Swanson.  Motion carried.
