St. Croix Flowage Brings Fishermen and Nature Lovers to Gordon

The St. Croix Flowage northwest of Gordon is a 2,500-acre lake created by the Gordon Dam. Even before the dam was built in 1936, this area of the St. Croix River was wide and slow. Today the flowage offers excellent fishing for bass, northern and panfish. Bald eagles, osprey and vultures are abundant. The flowage is part of the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway, which offers some 250 miles of scenic canoeing
