Hunters with Disabilities

Disabled Hunter Access to State Hunting Lands by ATV or Motorized Vehicle

To facilitate disabled hunter's to access state hunting lands for hunting, the DNR implemented a revised form and application procedure to offer reasonable accommodation to hunter's requesting access.

The revised process includes submitting Form 2500-079 - Motorized Vehicles for Disabled Hunting on State Lands Application (pdf). This can be processed by DNR Service Centers and property managers of the specified requested hunting area/DNR property.

Once the application is reviewed and processed the hunter will be given a permit 2500-080 indicating the access specifics and a large yellow sign to attach to the vehicle or ATV they are using to inform wardens from a distance they have authorization. Discretion for the issuance of these permits is with the property manager/warden based upon environmental concerns and volume use issues or abuse. The permit authorizes only the disabled hunter to be transported on the vehicle and to use the vehicle to set up or remove hunting blind or equipment and the harvested animal. Abuse of the permit will result in its cancellation.
