Visit the Monarch Butterfly Habitat in Shell Lake, Wisconsin. Located on Route 63 as you enter Shell Lake from Spooner. The sanctuary is open to the public during daylight summer hours. It is within walking distance of downtown, public beach, Memorial Park and Lakefront Pavilion. The Monarch Butterfly Habitat opens Memorial Weekend and ends after Labor Day weekend. Summer classes with Happy Tonics: June 23- Native Bee Count 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (one hour commitment) July 4- National Butterfly Count 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (one hour commitment) Parking and handicap parking next to Monarch Butterfly Habitat.
