Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad Train Rides – Located just north of Spooner, the Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad offers an incredible variety of train rides to choose from. For families, head out on the Family Pizza Train or book early to enjoy the Santa Train in November and December. If you’re looking for a romantic getaway, be sure to check out the Dinner Train Ride or the Bed & Breakfast Train. For a true Wisconsin experience, you won’t want to miss the Wine & Cheese Train on the Sky Parlour “Namekagon View” car where you’ll enjoy Wisconsin wine and cheese on your leisurely ride along the Namekagon River: Wisconsin’s Moving National Park.
Perlick Distillery - Perlick Distillery is a family-owned business that produces fine spirits distilled from grains grown on site from their five-generation farm. The tasting room offers a cocktail and martini menu, as well as a variety of seasonal drinks. If you’re visiting in August, you won’t want to miss taking a stroll through the beautiful sunflower maze that Perlick Farm grows in the field around the distillery.
Shell Lake Beach – The winner of the Best of WashCo: Best Attraction is a local hot spot during the summer. Shell Lake Beach offers a spacious, sandy beach on one of Washburn County’s most beautiful lakes. With an adjoining playground, courtesy dock, fishing pier, campground, and even a bandshell, Shell Lake Beach is the perfect place to cool off on a hot, summer day. The beach and park are located at the end of Shell Lake’s main street (5th Avenue) where you’ll find ice cream shops, restaurants, gift shops, and more.
