There’s nothing quite like the first sip of your favorite drink. Whether that’s a warm cup of coffee or a martini made from local grains, there’s a drink for everyone in Washburn County. Whether you’re looking for a cozy coffee shop, bustling brewpub, or a local watering hole, we can get you headed in the right direction.

The first of our Best of WashCo series for 2023 kicks off with The Best Pour category. Our visitors and locals are equally passionate about their favorite places to grab a drink.

Klopp's 5th Avenue Bar - If you ever watched (and loved) the show “Cheers” you’ll feel right at home when you walk into Klopp’s. Widely known for their friendly atmosphere, cheap drinks and homemade pizza, this is sure to become a must stop. One of the great perks of stopping in for a drink at Klopp’s, the Laughing Goat Food Truck is right outside the door. If you haven’t tried that yet, you better mark it on your bucket list because they are also the winner of the Best Bites category for 2023.

Corner House Pub - Surely the first thing you’ll notice is the authenticity of this upscale Spooner pub. From its tin ceilings to the original brick and gorgeous floors, the Corner House Pub offers authentic, hometown charm that will make it hard to leave after just one drink. The pints are ice cold, the specialty drinks a delight and the wine is best served on their charming patio with the gorgeous mural backdrop painted by another local business owner, MaryKay Latzka of Gypsy and the Frog.

Round Man Brewing Co. - And the winner of the Best of WashCo: Best Pour for 2023 is Washburn County's first brewery, Round Man Brewing Co. Located in downtown Spooner, Round Man offers 18 artisan taps flowing with RMBC's original brews and signature favorites. Start of with a flight to sample some of their top brews before you make your final selection, or just order another flight because they're all so good! Pair your brew with their smoked turkey nachos or order up a wood stone pizza.
