Hunt Hill Audubon Sanctuary will be hosting two Active Outdoors programs on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 1:00 pm for adults and at 2:30 pm for families with children. Active Outdoors is a monthly program series supported by Mayo Clinic Health System with the goal of introducing our community to fun activities that they can do outdoors! This month’s activity is Introduction to Snowshoeing.

Participants will learn the physics of how snowshoes keep them on top of the snow, how to strap on different types of snowshoes, and the basics of walking in snowshoes. Following that brief introduction, participants will go on a short ½ mile guided hike to test out their new skills. Participants are encouraged to stay after instruction to try other trails and to enjoy hot drinks. Snowshoes will be available to borrow at no cost (quantities are limited).

Registration is required by Friday, January 29 at noon. To register, call 715-635-6543 or email program@hunthill.org.

First session at 1:00pm is limited to 20 adults, second session at 2:30pm is limited to 5 families. All activities will take place outdoors with social distancing practices in place.
