Ainsley's Blog: County Fair

Washburn County Fair, Spooner, Wisconsin

August 7, 2017

I went to the Washburn County Fair.  The first thing we did was buy tickets for the rides.  The first thing I chose to go on was the obstacle course and then the bouncy house.  They were fun.  Next I went on a ride that was like a spinning baby swing.  After that I rode in a little boat in a circle.  Then I rode a train.  After some rides I really wanted to play some games.  I really wanted to throw ten darts at balloons but my dad said I could only throw three.  I did good.  I didn’t miss any balloons.  I won a rainbow penguin!  Sometimes I sleep with it at night.  After the darts, I threw ping pong balls into little fishbowls.  I didn’t get any in.  After the games, I did a few more rides.  After the rides, I got a treat and a fresh squeezed lemonade.  The lemonade was good and I was excited that I got to keep the cup but I accidentally threw it away the next day.  We also walked around and looked at a lot of animals.  There were horses, cows, a donkey, and I got to pet a little pig.  I also saw sheeps and goats and ducks and geese and chickens.  Then I did some more rides.  I rode the train again and saw my kindergarten teacher!  I also went down a huge slide.  I thought it was amazing.  When we first got there, I was so excited to see the Ferris Wheel, but it was broken.  But, right before I left, it was fixed.  So we used up the rest of our tickets to ride the Ferris Wheel.  It was so fun and daddy was scared, so I holded on tight to him and told him “Don’t worry daddy, I have you.”  After it was done, I wanted to go on the big slide again, but we were out of tickets.  So we left the fair and went to Shell Lake and got ice cream from Matt’s Ice Cream trailer.  And the man that gave me my ice cream was the same man that drove the huge pontoon at the Relay for Life the week before!  The fair was amazing!  I want to go back again!  That day was the best!
