Best of WashCo: Music Scene 2021
It’s a starry night and you’re gathered in front of the stage with your best friends listening to some heart-pumping music as you take a sip of your favorite beverage. Oh yes, this is the music scene in Washburn County. There are many great venues throughout the area who offer live music either during the summer or year-round. We needed to know what the top places were to catch some tunes and your nominations (and top votes!) did NOT disappoint!
The first nominee also happens to be one of the top wedding venues in the area. Pine Brook Farm their picturesque 1914 barn and farm backdrop certainly add to the ambiance of the live music. You’ll definitely want to swing by the Woodtick Lounge to grab a beverage before catching a seat to soak in the music. Another great time to stop out is during Open Mic Night which is held twice a month. We know you want to jump in and show off your hidden musical talents Named in 2017 as one of “The 15 Places You Should Eat in Wisconsin in 2017” by OnlyinYourState.com, you’ll want to come early and check out their incredible menu offering grass-fed beef, gluten free options and some of the best Bison steak you can find.
The next nominee is just a stone’s throw from Big McKenzie Lake located on Big Bass Lake. Whether it’s a DJ, Karaoke, Live Band or even a comedian, The Still Bar & Grill is great at bringing in the entertainment and putting on a show. If you want to kick up your heels and have a great time, keep an eye on their Facebook page for live music. You’re sure to have a great time at The Still. An added bonus, they are located just off of the ATV and snowmobile trail so it’s the perfect stop while you’re checking out the incredible Washburn County trail system.
The final nominee and winner of the Best of WashCo: Music Scene category is none other than The Potter’s Shed in Shell Lake. This unique spot offers an open air venue with garden, water features, outdoor stage, and plenty of talented musicians (both regional and national acts!) gracing their stage on Friday nights all summer long. Once you’ve experienced Music at the Shed, we know you’ll be hooked. The Potter’s Shed knows it too, so don’t worry, they offer a season pass if you plan to hit up as many concerts as possible. An added perk of Music at the Shed, it’s family friendly! Bring the kids, order some pizza and let mom relax in a lawn chair while the kiddos show off their best dance moves. Maybe, just maybe, dad will join in and show them “the sprinkler” or better yet “the robot.”
If that isn’t enough to get your vocal cords warmed up to sing along, then you better bookmark our events calendar so that you can check back on all of the great music offered in the area. And Dad, keep on breaking out those sweet moves.
