Jack Link's Northwoods Music Festival-Insider Tips
July 31, 2017
It’s a quaint community in Northwest Wisconsin on a gorgeous summer weekend. Your camper is all set up, tickets in hand; you head over to the festival grounds, set up a couple chairs and get ready for some of the best county stars to hit the stage. Welcome to Minong, Wisconsin and the Jack Link’s Northwoods Music Festival. For the third year in a row, Jack Link’s is bringing some of country’s hottest acts to Minong, population 527.
The lineup for 2017 is nothing short of awesome. Friday night kicks off with Russell Dickerson, LANCO, Casey Donahew and Tyler Farr. On Saturday, the show begins at 2 p.m. with Ryan Griffin, Brandon Ray, Steve Moakler, Maddie and Tae, Sawyer Brown, A Thousand Horses, and Kip Moore. With a lineup like this, you’ll want to be sure to get a two-day pass so you don’t miss any of the fun. If you’re looking for a few other tips to help you have the best experience possible at the festival, check out our insider tips below.
Ordering Tickets: Head to www.northwoodsfestival.com to order your tickets. General Admission and VIP are both available. If you’re looking to get right up in front of the action, you’re definitely going to want to spring for the VIP tickets. VIP includes a GA VIP seat, VIP parking and admittance into the exclusive VIP hospitality area where you will receive shaded areas, private restrooms and a cash bar. General admission is first come first serve, lawn chair seating. You’ll want to bring your own lawn chair. Blankets and lounge chair seating is not permitted in the main seating area. A limited number of single day VIP passes are available. Two day passes for VIP or GA are non-transferable. Side note, there are Children’s tickets available for your littles as well!
Where to Stay: Spend your days with the stars, and your nights under the stars! The festival is offering camping this year with shuttle service to the festival and back. Two day wristbands are required for entrance into the campground. This is a great way to enjoy the full festival experience. If you are looking for a hotel, cabin or a campground a little further out from the festival, check out the lodging availability for the Washburn County area.
Parking: With VIP tickets, you get free VIP parking. If you’re looking to get a little closer, this might just be the option for you! Free general parking is also available. Keep in mind that you can’t leave your vehicle overnight, so if you plan to drink, be sure to designate a sober driver.
Food & Beverage: The festival does not allow any carry-ins of food and beverage. Yes, this includes water so plan accordingly. If you want to bring an empty cup, that’s fine. The festival team has been working hard to have a variety of your favorite food and beverages available, so you’ll be glad you didn’t bring a cold sandwich instead of enjoying the scrumptious festival food! New this year, food and beverages can be purchased with cash or credit card.
Things to Bring: Any time you attend an outdoor festival, it’s smart to plan ahead for Wisconsin’s continuously changing weather. While we always expect the sun to be shining at the festival, on the off chance there’s a little rain, you may wish to bring a sweatshirt or poncho just in case. Keep in mind, umbrellas may only be used in between performers as to not obstruct the view of other festival-goers. Since we plan for sun though, you should too! Make sure that you bring sunscreen and a hat is always helpful (or you can buy one on site!) to keep you from getting burned. The event will be held rain or shine.
What Not to Bring: Just as important as what to bring, there is a list of restricted items as well. A few of the things to leave behind are: pets, drones, video recorders, weapons, ATV’s, golf carts, water guns, laser pointers, and drugs. For a complete list of rules, be sure to check out the festival website.
At the end of the weekend, we want to be sure that every attendee from age 5 to 95 had a great time at the festival and has a great story to share of their festival experience. We hope you have a great time during your stay in Washburn County and at the Jack Link’s Northwoods Music Festival! Afterward, be sure to share your photos on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.
