Put those walking shoes on because Washburn County is full of unique antique stores filled with the treasures you are searching for and plenty of hidden gems that you never even knew you needed. From furniture to jewelry, rusty to shiny vintage pieces, there’s treasure to be found in each and every one of these unique antique shops.

Kicking off the treasure hunt is The Copper Horse located in Spooner, is a unique and inexpensive, one-of-a-kind furniture and accessories store with everything from shabby chic to vintage style. The original red tin ceiling tile instantly provides a dynamic presence in store brimming with antiques, cabin and home décor, jewelry, unique finds, women’s consignment clothing, and even farm fresh eggs. No matter what you are looking for, The Copper Horse offers you an inexpensive way to decorate and dress with class and individuality.

Next up on our list, and next door to The Copper Horse, is Antique Associates or as many call it, Antiques on Walnut. Before the store was brimming with antiques, it ran as a liquor store from 1933 to roughly 1999, and still boasts the beautiful original tin ceiling. Antique Associates offers a wide variety of antiques and collectables including furniture, crocks, glassware, jewelry, pottery, majolica, flow blue, linens, lighting, rustic and lodge furnishings, fish and wildlife mounts. You’re sure to find a number of hidden gems amongst its unique assorted inventory.

This year Antique Adventures takes the top spot for The Best of WashCo: Treasure Chest. The World Headquarters of Antique Adventures, located in Trego, brings an eclectic array of the rusty-crusty, craftsmanship of old wares and the passion for time past to their storefront. Owners Tom and Mardi Neefe have a knack of exploring through old estates, barns, garages, and flea markets to bring back nostalgia to the Northwoods. Their hand-selected inventory has a little bit of everything from kitchen, to outdoors, to furniture that changes on the regular, so you just might find yourself coming back for more time and time again. And, a trip to Antique Adventures just wouldn’t be complete if you didn’t come for their Flea Market that happens the 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month, Memorial Day weekend through October.

No matter what kind of treasure you’re searching for, Washburn County boasts an array of awesome antique shops just waiting for you to wander through. Check out more in our antiques section on our shop page!
