The music, the lights, the food. What is it about your favorite event that you just can’t bear to miss? One of the best parts of Washburn County events is the down-home atmosphere. Even if you aren’t from here, you’ll feel like you are by the end of one of our hometown festivals. Between the live music events, professional rodeo, sporting events, and so many others, there’s always something fun going on when you visit the area. The votes have been tallied in our Best of WashCo: Best Event category and you’ll need to mark these top three events on your summer calendar.

Have you been to the gorgeous lakefront community of Shell Lake? Odds are if you have, you’ve heard of this first event. Held Labor Day weekend every year, Town & Country Days offers live music, a truck & tractor pull, parade, and much more. If you're looking for a good old fashioned town festival, this is it.

If you love live music, you won't want to miss Freedom Fest WI, formerly known as the Spooner Block Party. The concert is a mix of rock and country and strives to be the largest charity event in the area focuses on giving back to regional military, law enforcement, firefighters & EMS teams. It's music with a great cause that you won't want to miss!

Buckle up, rodeo fans! The winner of the 2023 Best of WashCo: Best Event category is none other than the Heart of the North Spooner Rodeo! This event draws spectators and contestants from all over the country for some of the best pro rodeo action that you’ll find east of the Mississippi.
