Long Lake

Long Lake, which stretches 19 miles and reaches depths of over 70 feet, is known as the Walleye Capital of Wisconsin. Long Lake offers several resorts, bait shops, restaurants and attractions making this a premier lakeside destination. The clear, spring-fed water keeps visitors coming back to Long Lake year after year, generation after generation. Sarona is home to Hunt Hill Audubon Sanctuary, a 600-acre nature preserve, with 7 miles of hiking trails, including the famous “Bog Trail.” The Long Lake & Sarona area also offer excellent golfing, miles upon miles of ATV & snowmobile trails, and incredible fishing opportunities.

Lakeside lodging is plentiful around Long Lake. Nearby you'll find plentiful camping as well. Many of the lakeside cabins are also open during the winter months, making Long Lake a great destination for winter sports such as cross country skiing and snowmobiling as well.

Be sure to head out to Butternut Hills Golf Course while you're in the Long Lake area for a great round of golf. Hunt Hill Audubon Sanctuary is also a hot spot for fun activities. They offer over 13 miles of hiking trails and educational programming year round.

Surrounded on all sides by trails, Long Lake is a hot spot for ATV, snowshoe, cross country ski and snowmobile enthusiasts. In the winter, the "lake trail" will bring you across Long Lake where you can access all of the restaurants and resorts. Nearby Hunt Hill even offers 7 miles of hiking trails.

In August, you'll definitely want to mark your calendar for the Band on the Barge where you'll enjoy live music right on the water.
